"My family (1 husband and 1 6 year old daughter) just left Rocky s Resort on 12/26 and have wonderful memories of a fantastic resort on Ko Samuai. Rocky s Resort truly takes the family-owned to the ultimate degree. Every day members of the Larsen family are around and about the resort just checking to make sure your needs are being met. The staff are exceptional (especially Kai in Reception and Sa in the Main Restaurant). The staff are just lovely with children and really love hanging with and doting on them.The resort is just finishing a major construction project where they have added a second larger Garden Pool, a new Pool Bar, Bistro, Kids Club and large lounge area where you can play games, drink, eat or just hang near the pool. Additionally they have built several new rooms on the Garden side of the resort and they are fabulous. The attention to decorating detail around the resort is wonderful and it truly feels sumptuous. The new addition gives the resort a whole new feel without it becoming too large and losing the boutique-ness that makes it special. This is a great place for families also and the close proximity to Lamai is convenient, however the secluded nature of the location shields young children from the street scene in Lamai which is rather icky. The small crescent beach is great for sand castles and swimming or lounging. The resort also has two kayaks which guests can take out for free and paddle around the area. Reception is ready and willing to help with any day-trips you d like to do during your stay and will supply guests with good tips about which trips are a good fit for your tastes and family make-up.We ate off the resort property a few times, but chose to take our dinners on property because the menu was very diverse and the resort offers several theme nights during the week to break up the menu. The breakfast that is included with your room is ample; basically a full buffet and the ability to order off the menu, so that when you push back from breakfast you feel like you are ready to conquer any activity.Overall a fantastic resort with a warm and wonderful family and staff. "We had a wonderful three nights stay at Rocky s, after spending 24 hours travelling from Norway. When you pull off the road and through the gate to Rocky s, you know right away that you are in a special place. We were greeted with a smile and fruit cocktails to start off our visit. The room, the restaurant, the bar, the staff, everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations! It is great that you can find such a secluded place only a few minutes from the cheesy bar scene of Lamai and Chaweng. With such a great restaurant at the hotel, there is no need to leave the place for dinner, and you don t have to deal with all the other tourists that are out to get drunk in Lamai or Chaweng. "The hotel is a small boutique hotel right at the beach south of Lamai, well maintained and decorated with attention to detail. It is a five minute drive off Lamai and a taxi stand is right in front of the hotel. We had a beach front bungalow which was quite, clean, nicely furnished with a large bathroom. Hotel staff was very friendly and forthcoming. The restaurant is nicely located on top of some rocks right on the beach. It serves excellent Thai food at acceptable prices. "We had a superb week at this lovely resort the highpoint of which was our son s wedding totally organised by the Resort. Their organisation was brilliant with great attention to detail and service. Apart from the beach wedding itself and two photographers we had a superb meal in a private room, entertainment, fireworks, cake and dancing. "we loved Rocky s Resort! our room (large junior suite) was beautifully decorated and spacious. the pools were a great bonus and the grounds are beautifully manicured,and the staff is so friendly and helpful. well worth the more expensive rate. the restaurant had a great menu and the food was amazing, however the pricing seemed a bit on the high side...even for a higher end resort. we wished we could have stayed here longer. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>"

"From arriving in the beautiful setting of Rocky s Resort we received excellent service. The staff are more than willing to help with any needs you require. From our private fishing boat trip to each delicious meal in the restaurant. Prices are reasonable for the quality and you get what you pay for! Not recommended if travelling with elderly or disabled as the resort is set on a slope to the beach, plenty of steps to get to your room or garden pool etc. Room detail is amazing from entering with fresh orchids and flower displays. "This hotel is first class all the way. We had our wedding at Rocky s and would never have it any other way- it was perfect! Luke is amazing and all the other staff for that special night were fantastic. This is the perfect wedding/honeymoon hotel as it has its own private beach, 3 pools, and great cocktails. We recommend getting a scooter to get around as the hotel is a bit far away from shops and Lamai beach. Another point is if you are travelling with elderly or unabled people try to get a ground floor room as the stairs and paths around Rocky s can be quite dangerous. "We stayed at the Rocky Resort for 11 nights in the Deluxe Junior Ocean View villa. The Resort was superb with excellent service and all the little things well looked after. The restuarant s dinner meals were fantastic with an assortment of Thai and Western food depending on your mood. I highly recommend the Rocky Resort for anyone wanting a relaxing and quiet stay. The staff were by and large excellent with any small problems being attended to quickly. The accommodation itself was very nice and cleaned extremely well each day (and at convenient times). The resort facilities were very good. On the downside, the resort is a long way to Chaweng (20 mins and around 300-400 baht tax ride) and a 20-25 minute walk to Lamai s restuarants and shopping. Any purchases from the resort (food, drinks, car hire) were at Western retail prices. Overall, though it was excellent."

"Resort had been great. Service was fantastic. I love the toilet at the sea view rooms... they are so spacious. comfortable and big beds... everything was great by their special arrangements for flowers and chocolates were quite a disappointment. But on the whole, most staff could speak english and facilities were always available. :)"
